All Masters degree candidates at WKU must pass a comprehensive examination.
In Computer Science, there is a written exam covering material from our 500
level core courses. We have prepared an outline of topics
to be covered including chapters from some popular books.
Students typically take the exam in their last semester. It is administered
once each semester, typically on the first Saturday in November and the
first Saturday in April. Students who do not pass on their first attempt
will be given a second opportunity in the same semester, typically 2 or
3 weeks after the first attempt
If a student fails the second attempt, they have one more chance in a
later semester. If a student fails 3 times, they will not receive a
masters degree in computer science from WKU.
